Restaurant Food CaloriesRestaurants, everywhere are listing their calorie information on their menus.

As a consumer, always be aware of the size of the portions along with the calories displayed on the menus.  This really is the key. At Midwest Laboratories, we test food packages sold in restaurants and the numbers can be staggering at times. Most of the time, it is due to the large portions that are served.

In addition to calories, salt and fat content are also important. It is amazing to me that some food items can contain well over 2,000 mg of salt.

Calories are important, but they do not tell the whole story.
