Food and Fuel are final products in the Ethanol Process

I think it’s always good to have some numbers to look at when looking at this debate.

Check out the numbers that were highlighted in this video.

One bushel of grain produces

  • 2.8 gallons of ethanol – using starch

  • 18 pounds of  livestock feed -containing proteins, fat and other nutrients and vitamins

In addtition, this grain is used to help not only for feed producers in the United States but also the World.

  • 30 million metric tons of Dried Distillers Grains, (DDGs)  were produced in 2009.
  • 5.5 million metric tons off DDGs are exported to other countries.
