I came across this article, Corn planting ready to begin by Kent Thiesse  – April 14 2015. The article reiterates the point that April planting will be the standard in 2015.  April 11, 2105 was the earliest date that corn could be planted if people wanted to take advantage of risk management programs with respect to be eligible for crop insurance.  Conditions are just right at the moment, with fields not being too wet or muddy.
